I discovered Thaxted Yoga in January 2020 to help recuperation after a back injury and haven’t looked back.
Being completely new to yoga, Lolli, the team of lovely instructors and all the other yogis made me feel immediately welcome.
The serene, relaxed, encouraging and wholly non-pretentious environment makes it a haven of peace and mindfulness in a hectic day-to-day life.
I often race to get there on time after a long day at work, feeling mentally and physically exhausted, but always come away from a practice completely repaired.
From ‘Stretch and Restorative’ through to the ‘stronger’ practices, yoga is now an integral part of my life and has increased not only my physical strength, stamina and flexibility, but has also taught me the huge benefits of mindful meditation.
The last year has brought challenges for all of us and, for me, being part of Thaxted Yoga has given me new-found strength of body and mind to keep going through recuperation from injury, the impacts of the lockdowns, bereavement, family traumas and illnesses.
The practice, the mutual encouragement and the support of the ‘family’ that is the Thaxted Yoga community are truly marvellous.
